Sri Lanka and Uttar Pradesh of India resolved to further strengthen the cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture, religion and people-to-people contacts when the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda met with the Chief Minister of the State Shri Yogi Adityanath yesterday (17) in Lucknow.
This was the second meeting that High Commissioner Moragoda had with the Chief Minister of the most populous State in India since the former took office in New Delhi in 2021.

Continuing his efforts to further expand engagement with the concurrently accredited Missions in New Delhi, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India, Milinda Moragoda had an interactive session with the New Delhi based Trade Commissioners/ Commercial Diplomats concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka today (16) at the High Commission premises.
The interactive session was attended by Trade Commissioners/ Commercial Diplomats from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Chile, Finland, Hungary, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Spain, and Sweden. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways to enhance trade and economic relations between Sri Lanka and these countries.

As part of his efforts to enhance dialogue with Heads of Mission of Islamic countries in New Delhi, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India Milinda Moragoda presented a copy of the Sinhala translation of the Holy Quran to the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to India Saleh Eid Al-Husseini today (16).
The presentation was made this morning when High Commissioner Moragoda met Ambassador Al- Husseini at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in New Delhi. During the meeting, the Sri Lankan High Commissioner and the Saudi Ambassador had an exchange of views covering a range of issues, including the possibility of trilateral economic cooperation with the involvement of India.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in India collaborated with the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in New Delhi on an exhibition of Buddhist art held at the Gallery to mark the month of Vesak. The month-long exhibition of Buddhist art titled Buddham Saranam Gachchami was ceremonially inaugurated by the State Minister of External Affairs and Culture of India Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi yesterday (10).
The exhibition features a NGMA-owned collection of Buddhist art by eminent Indian painters including the legendary Nandalal Bose, and paintings loaned by the High Commission of Sri Lanka and the Embassy of Myanmar in New Delhi.
