Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa who is on a two-day official visit to New Delhi held bilateral talks with the External Affairs Minister of India Dr. S. Jaishankar this evening (16). The talks were held at the Hyderabad House, the official State Guest House of the Government of India. 

The two Ministers held talks on a range of issues pertaining to the bilateral relationship, particularly on those that are related to the economic partnership between the two countries. Finance Minister Rajapaksa thanked the External Affairs Minister Jaishankar for the assistance extended by India to Sri Lanka. Minister Jaishankar assured Minister Rajapaksa that India would continue to respond to the requirements of the people of Sri Lanka.

Continuing its efforts to enhance dialogue with all major religions in India, the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi today (28) presented a Sinhala translation of the Holy Quran to the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (Council of Muslim Theologians of India).

The Sinhala translation of the Holy Quran, published by the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) of Sri Lanka, was presented to the Secretary General of the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Advocate Niaz Ahmed Farooqui this afternoon by Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda.

Exemption of pre-departure COVID -19 testing (PCR/Rapid Antigen Test) of Fully Vaccinated Travelers arriving in Sri Lanka PDF Print option in slimbox / lytebox? (info) E-mail

“Inbound travelers to Sri Lanka who have obtained recommended doses of the COVID-19 vaccination and depart from abroad two weeks after completion of vaccination (Fully Vaccinated Travelers) are exempted from pre-departure COVID-19 testing. (PCR/Rapid Antigen Test)”

This guideline is effective for the travelers arriving in Sri Lanka via airports or seaports from 00:00 on 01st of March 2022.

On-Arrival ETA at the port of entry to Sri Lanka will be facilitated for the tourists who are unable to obtain ETA by online mode due to time constraints.

As per the health guidelines issued on 27th January 2022 by the Director General of Health Services, Ministry of Health of  Sri Lanka, all arriving passengers to Sri Lanka must perform a COVID-19 PCR Test within 72 hours prior to departure or Rapid Antigen Test obtained within 48 hours prior to departure.

Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda met with the Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shri Mohan Bhagwat yesterday (24). The meeting took place at the Headquarters of the RSS in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh, literary meaning the 'National Volunteer Organization', is a large and widespread Indian Hindu volunteer organization with a membership of 5-6 million.
