The Department of Wildlife Conservation has revised its documentary filming charges as follows with effect from 1st July 2012

Local Crew

Day time: per day per reserve

Rs.   25,000.00

Any additional day

Rs.     2,500.00

Any additional reserve

Rs.     2,500.00

Night filming: per hour (6.00-9.00p.m. only)

Rs.   25,000.00

For long term filming: (more than 100 days) 

Charges will be decided by the DG: minimum charge

Rs. 100,000.00

Foreign Crew

Day time: per day per reserve

USD   5,000.00

Any additional day

USD      250.00

Any additional reserve

USD      500.00

Night filming: per hour (6.00-9.00p.m. only)

USD      500.00

For long term filming: (more than 100 days)

Charges will be decided by the DG: minimum charge

USD 25,000.00

Note: Elephant Transit homes and Holding Grounds are considered as separate wildlife reserves. Commercial films and Tele dramas are not allowed in wildlife protected areas.
