Jayanthi Kuru Utumpala, will deliver the prestigious V. Krishna Lecture at the Miranda House College, University of Delhi “On Top of the World: Scaling Everest and Breaking Gender Stereotypes” on 18th January 2019.

The speaker has been invited by the English Department of the Miranda House as a distinguished alumni from 2000 and 2003. The Krishna Lecture is dedicated in memory of its legendary teacher, Mrs V. Krishna who joined the institution when the University College for Women was founded, in 1948. The Speaker is noted as the first Sri Lankan woman to climb the mount Everest in 2016.
