Hon PM of SL attended the Inaugural Session of the "5th Global Conference on Cyber space: 2017" today in New Delhi. Hon. Narendra Modi, PM of India was the Chief Guest.

Hon. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India joined by Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, inaugurated the 5th Global Conference on Cyber Space: 2017 (GCCS), today at 10.00am, at the premises of Hotel Pullman Aerocity.

The Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS) is a prestigious global event where international leaders, policymakers, industry experts, think tanks, cyber experts etc gather to deliberate on issues and challenges for optimally using cyber space. GCCS was launched with a view to establish a more focused and inclusive dialogue between all those with a stake in the internet (governments, civil society and industry) on how to use and implement the tools available on cyber space. It also aims to carry forward internationally agreed 'rules of the road' for behavior in cyberspace.

The first to fourth editions of GCCS were held in London, UK in 2011, Budapest, Hungary, 2012, Seoul, South Korea in 2013 and The Hague, Netherlands respectively.
